So, when I got my schedule last month, I saw that I had the same trip three weeks in a row. A three day trip with layovers that are long enough to feel rested. Rested enough to make plans for my days off? Yep! Color me happy!

Since I’m not senior enough to hold any trip consistently, this was a very pleasant surprise.

The first trip went great. All the flights were on time and the weather was great.

I got a lot accomplished on my first set of days off…and started making plans for my next set of days off.

I’m currently on day 3 of the second trip. I haven’t slept well and we didn’t make it to our scheduled city last night. A flight delay followed by an aircraft substitution that caused a change to our schedule. Tomorrow morning, John and I are going on a last minute road trip to attend a funeral.

Life has a funny way of happening.

There was a time that I would have been a bit aggravated at the change of plans. But nothing comes from aggravation.

So, we go with the flow and look for the silver lining. And we’ll find it, because it’s always there.
