Nov 1 – Paige

Years ago, I began an experiment of sorts…it all started with the intention of seeing if I could only make a single post a day on Facebook. I chose November and decided to make the posts about what I was grateful for in my life. Over the years, the scope of my gratitude grew and my annual November postings helped me work through feelings, emotions, and life changes. The past couple of years though, my posts were more and more infrequent throughout the month and I began to feel guilty about not posting.

Not cool.

December would roll around and I discovered that I had missed my annual intentional look inward (along with more guilt about not having posted).

I realized that I missed waking up each morning and seeing what arose and felt the need to be spoken through my words. So, I’m back this November. I don’t promise daily long, thoughtful, deep thinking posts…or even a post every single day (although that is my goal). So, like daily exercise, I am going to reignite my daily acknowledgement of gratitude.

So, with that, as is my tradition each November 1, I am thankful for Paige.

Paige. The sweet young woman who unknowingly set me on this path during a conversation on a church bus. Paige, who said ‘Your posts every day have made me look at what is good in my life’. I remember thinking that this might be a good time to intentionally look for and acknowledge the good in my life every year.

So Paige, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me discover the good in my life, for helping me look for and see the good in the not-so-good times, and for helping me grow.

I am eternally grateful to and for you.
